Sold car - little contact from buyer

Hi,
I sold a car on ebay yesterday and I am struggling to get any communication from the winning bidder.
They must have been online to bid on the car, as they made a couple of bids right up until the auction ended.
I contacted them straight away to try and arrange collection, but I did not get any reply.
The car sold at 1pm, I waited until 6pm and then requested the contact details from ebay, so I could text them. Funnily enough the buyer replied to my emails within 10 minutes of me making the info. request, saying they would pick the car up Monday.
Fair enough, but as they live in Liverpool, and I live in Leeds, I messaged back to say they would only be able to collect the car after 5pm and could they confirm that this was ok.
No reply to any messages.
Today I have texted them, asking if they can confirm they are coming to collect the car, or just to let me know either way.
At the moment I am stuck, I do not think they are going to go through with the transaction, but what can I do in the mean time?
I am not looking forward to relisting the car and having to go through this again!

blimey you are keen, think you need to show a little patience. They have been in touch, so, so far so good.0

I am keen, because the car is sat outside my house with no MOT.
I don't really think I am expecting too much, just expecting the buyer to reply to either an email or text message to arrange collection.
They just feel like they are going to be a timewaster to me.
I will just have to sit tight and wait til Weds. It is very frustrating though.0 -
With hindsight it seems that ebay was possibly not the best place for you to have sold the car. I know it is too late now but you might have been better with a small ad locally, then people could come round, see the car and pay cash if they liked it.
You say it has no MOT, I assume therefore it is garaged, or at least completely off the public highway?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Not really, there is a big market for cars with no mot on ebay. Listed under spares or repairs...
Saying that though, does appear I am quite unlucky so far.You say it has no MOT, I assume therefore it is garaged, or at least completely off the public highway?
What does that have to do with anything?
The car is not being driven, which is the offence I assume you are thinking of?0 -
you cannot park a car with no mot on a public road, if it is outside your house on your drive you will be ok.0

of?
No you are not unlucky, I wouldn't expect a buyer to collect immediately they win a car especially as they will need to arrange transport home for it, or book it in for an MOT so they can legally drive it to a pre booked MOT on the way home.
It isn't like they cna just turn up and drive it way, and if they are going to take it in for repairs and a pre booked MOT they couldn't even book that until they knew they had the car, so they coul dprobably arrange that tomorrow and collect a few days later.
All you can do is sit tight, open N NPB on day 4. close it 4 days later and then relist.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. mancitychick My point being what does this have to do with this thread?
I already know this and it is totally irrelevant.
BTW did you know you can get sent to prison if you go into a bank, rob it and get caught. Totally irrelevant, but just thought I would mention it.0 -

I'm sorry that you have had to wait for your car to be collected, but getting silly isn't going to make the wait any better.
You chose to sell on ebay, therefore be patient, if you haven't had a satisfactory response on day 4 open an NPB. There is nothing else you cna do now unless oyu want to risk a mutual, and possibly lose your FVFs.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You wouldn't, I would.
I was looking for advice about ebay, not a lecture on MOTs, or where I can and can't park the car etc.
I am stuck waiting for 4 days now, even though I am quite sure the winning bidder is not going to complete the sale.It isn't like they cna just turn up and drive it way, and if they are going to take it in for repairs and a pre booked MOT they couldn't even book that until they knew they had the car, so they coul dprobably arrange that tomorrow and collect a few days later.
Fair enough, doesn't explain why they have ignored emails and texts to arrange collection.
They might have to book in for the MOT and arrange transport etc. but they also have to arrange for me to be at home when they collect the car, which they have not done. All you can do is sit tight, open N NPB on day 4. close it 4 days later and then relist.
Thanks, that is all I really needed to know.0
