Advice on buyer messing me around

I sold a laptop on eBay. In the auction, I posted at the bottom 'Confirmed Addresses if paying with PayPal please'. The buyer paid, but it was from an non verified unregistered PayPal payment i.e the person has just paid using their debit/credit card without registering an account.
I was still eligible for Sellers Protection so I was going to continue, however I sent an email to them explaining, and at the time, the payment was currently 'under review' as PayPal manually check all payments from unregistered accounts.
I sent an email explaining that ''the auction description stated your address must be verified, however paypal are currently reviewing the payment and if all comes back okay, I'll post the item asap'.
I then got a reply
''hi
i'm really sorry i was looking at laptops and left the page open and my 12 year old son has bought it. it wasn't meant for me to bid on I was just looking to see how much i would pay for a laptop for when i can get one in a few weeks time so could you please cancel the transaction. sorry for any inconvenience my little brat has caused he is now grounded
thanks''
to which I replied
''Hi,
Your 12 year old has a credit card and can afford £580, as well as bidding on a laptop within the last minute of auction? I wish my son could afford that and know how to do this...''
to which she replied
''hi
i have spoken to my partner and he has agreed to buy the laptop for me as its the one i really wanted so it has now been paid for by paypal
please can you send asap
thanks''
however she obviously hadn't read my previous email and sent me a final message
''If you check the rest of your messages I have explained that he bid on it while I had been watching it and left the page open. I also explain in the second message that my boyfriend had offered to buy it for me as it was the one I was watching anyway and therefore I had paid for it. Beginning to wish I hadn't bothered when you have an attitude like yours''
Should I post the item? The payment cleared and is eligible for sellers protection, however the buyer has obviously messed me around a little.
Also, I've paid the £40 eBay fees for selling the item, as I pay these instantly after receiving payment, and I have also sent the money from PayPal to my bank account
So if I do issue a refund, she'll have to wait for the funds to clear, so that I can then issue a refund.
I'm surprised as she has 100% feedback and over 150 feedbacks...
What should I do?

Hi,Beginning to wish I hadn't bothered when you have an attitude like yours''
she hasn't said she doesn't want it, only commented on your attitude, saying that if she had known what you were like she wouldn't have bothered.
You've been paid, so send the item, if it's good and what she wanted, then there should be no need for a refund.0 -

Well she did say she didn't want it when she said ''her 12 year old son accidentally bid on it and paid for it'' then she changed her mind.
I'll wait for a few more opinions and then make a decision tomorrow. It's quite an expensive laptop so I don't want to be messed around.0 -
Hi,
the thing about the son paying for it, kids are computer savvy, and with ebay if you win an auction, it takes you to a page like, do you want to pay now, and if winner already has a card set up to pay it's just a click, so pretty easy.0 -

As the user doesn't have a Paypal account I think this would mean they had to enter all their card/name/address details to complete this transaction.Married 30/08/14 :heartpuls0 -

oops, , sorry.0 -
If you were unsure about this transaction, can I ask why you've already transfered the money out of your Paypal account to your own bank account?0

The first part of your post re confirmed addresses only? Many people don't have confirmed addresses, and it doesn't make any difference to the transaction. From what I read, you have the customer's money, transferred to your bank. yet you are dithering as to whether to send her goods?
You're going to be lucky to get out of this without bad feedback.0 -

I tranffered the money as soon as it cleared as I had all intentions of sending the item. It's only when I started getting emails saying my 12 year old son has bid by accident and can I refund, then I'll keep it...The first part of your post re confirmed addresses only? I'm a seller, I cannot receive bad feedback. The buyer messed me around and fogged me off with some story about her son bidding and paying which is totally untrue.
Looks like I'll post the item then.0 -
What makes you think that? Its only buyers that cannot receive bad feedback.
oh dear, you echo my fears on this one!
OP, you are selling an item that is in a highly scammed category, you have taken the money and have not yet shipped the item. If I were the buyer I would now be getting very nervous.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
