Why do people leave it till the last min to pay?

Had an auction going which sold. User didn't pay so opened an Unpaid Item case after 4 days and she has just paid at the last minute. What is the point in that? :s I did check and shes buy buying and selling all week too.

In this case it's possible that she was waiting for another buyer to pay her before she had enough money in her PayPal account to pay you.

I personally wouldnt bother bidding on an auction if I couldnt afford to pay the person for a week, think thats a bit rude :S

Buyers have up tp 7 days to pay (if you open a dispute on day 4) if your going to sell you need to accept that.

We're all different and have different reasons for paying or not.

I always pay as soon as I know I've won the item, but I accept that ebay's system allows buyers longer, so I learned to work with it.

Not to say it's not irritating, but I don't try and judge unless the buyer tells me why they're not paying or is rude about it - I did get someone who won something on Christmas Eve, wanted it for Christmas and hadn't paid me by the time I got back from my New Year's break, when I started calling in all the Christmas NPBs to whom I'd given a grace period because I was going to be away over New Year. Somehow I think she thought Santa was going to bring it and eBay was like Amazon where closing out an item meant that it was automatically paid for, and she was the only buyer I have ever negged (back when you still could). However, really, unless it's like that, there's no point getting all stuffy about it.

Yeah I know they have 7 days to pay. Its just a bit annoying when they have obviously been active and not sent anything to say why they are late paying etc! Ah well!

They might have been one of the people who were affected by the virus? I've a fair few items listed to sell in the next 5 days and some which finished over the weekend but my computer died on Saturday night (I'm on DH's now!). Also, how do you know she's been buying? If it's from feedback it could be from less recently bought items?
