Need advice please

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but hope someone can help.
My husbands has just been informed by a coleague (not management) that he cannot have his holidays that he has acrued each year over the 6 he has worked there as it was an 'error' and they were not entitled to it in there contract! he should be entitled to 25 days this year having to save days for christmas but will now drop back down to 20 having to take out days for chirstmas also because they are closed. As always the management have not discussed or notified my husband in writing etc even tho besides management he has been working there the longest and has just had to hear it of a work mate!He doesnt know what to do as incidents like this keep happening! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What does the contract say?
Does he work full time
Does he work 5 or more days a week
Does he get paid for bank holidays
Staturtory minimum is 5.6 weeks and that can include bank holidays.
For a full time worker that would be 28 days or can be 20 + bank holidays(8 normal ones).0
