Dancing on Ice - The Ticket Factory

Today I spoke to the Ticket Factory to enquire about tickets for the Torvill & Dean Dancing on Ice show. The website states:
"A limited number of half price tickets are available for Pensioners (over 65 years). Tickets are subject to availability and booking / transaction fees."
I asked about these half price tickets - they knew nothing about them! The person I spoke to said "hang on a minute, I'll just look at the website (!?) and then came back about 3 mins later (thank you saynoto0870.com) and said "sorry, they're all gone" - surprise surprise.
Am I being cynical? Maybe there were just 2 tickets for all of the performances. Is anyone out these aware of anyone getting half price tickets? Are these rhetorical questions?

I would imagine a few tickets are made available, but this franchise has made Chris Dean very wealthy and not by giving everything away for free ;-) I would also imagine as the show has been running a few years now, any discounted tickets are likely to vanish pretty pronto, and in any case are likely going to be for early shows in the series when the celebrities can just about go round in a circle, not when the shows are anything close to worth watching.

If you want to go to the touring show that follows the series, there are several of those that don't run at capacity, the promoters may run door discounts, you'll have to see on the day.

Hi - I spoke to a very helpful gentlemen regarding this discount and it was valid on a limited number of seats. The discount was withdrawn on 27th Jan 2011.
