in Credit cards
Hello all,
As the title says I'm struggling paying off my credit cards.
To be honest I'm up to my eyes in debt, due to my last job cutting my salary but now have a new job paying more but we've had to rely on credit cards for most of 2010.
I have cut out on most of life little pleasures, no sky, shopping about for best deals etc.....but still money is very tight and I'm left with pennies in my pocket.
The question I want to pose (before I ring up the credit card companies) is if I approach them, tell them my problems, say my monthly repayment is £250 and I offer a monthly amount of £150 that helps me do they:
1, Help me by accepting ?
2, Does this damage my credit rating?
3, Does this action close the account?
4, Will this affect any future mortgage renewals.
I'm worried that if I call them they will put a "note" on my account and flag it !
Thanks
TMH
ps I plan never get another thing on credit or apply for credit other then a mortgage

Why dont you do an SOA and then we can see where your money is going and be able to help.0

Oh I know where my money is going as I have spent the last 4 months using Martin's advice as regards doing a budget.
I'll post my budget on here for you to see.
But rather then struggle I'd like the have a chance to keep some money to put aside.0 -
they will be unlikely to help until you stop paying (why would they?)
it will trash your credit rating for the next 6 years
you will not be able to use the account any more
yes it will affect mortrgage applications0
