Tesco newborn nappies... any good?

We currently use tesco value nappies for our toddler who's quite adept at pooing and weeing now so we're not too concerned what her nappies look like as long as they don't leak as they end up in the bin anyway.. but we're expecting our 2nd baby in January and was wondering if anyone had used tesco's newborn nappies and if they were any good? Obviously we don't want to go for the cheapest option if they're going to irritate a new baby's skin or be uncomfortable but don't want to be forking out a fortune for expensive brand nappies??

Hi
I used Tesco newborn nappies on my daughter (now 22 months old) - I found them not as absorbant as Pampers newborn nappies, when she pooed, although they leaked a lot less than Pampers! They're a lot cheaper than Pampers/Huggies newborn variants too - £1.64 for 24 (if it hasnt changed?), as opposed to £3 odd.
I still use Tesco nappies on her now (size 4+ - big girl!), and have never had any problems with them, unless she was about to go the next size up.0 -
I found Tesco newborn quite soft, but I really found the pampers ones better. I found my daughter right from birth needed changing instantly if she felt the slightest bit wet, and Tesco nappies needed more changes than the pampers ones.0

I used Tesco Newborn nappies on my little one & had no problems at all. I did prefer Pampers, but Teso own are a lot cheaper.
Have you signed up online to Huggies & Pampers as they will send you vouchers. Also you will get vouchers from the Tesco Baby Club, which can be combined. This sometimes made it as cheap to buy these brands0 -
i used the sainsbury's newborn ones, they dropped the price to £1.32 i think [was using them 2 months ago]. much cheaper than huggies, and not much difference in performance. we did have to move up a size earlier than with huggies/pampers since the tabs aren't as stretchy though.0

I used asda's newborn nappies, i think they are called George like the clothing. Wasnt the smartprice ones. Then i went onto Huggies when he was around 4 months and then Pampers active fit at the end.
If you use Costco their brand of nappies are supposedly very good and will work out cheaper too i would presume.Bringing up 2 handsome boys and 1 gorgeous girl the MSE way!Joseph born 19th December 2001Matthew born 8th August 2007Tara born 23rd January 20110 -
I had no problems with tesco's newborn, Just gone into no3's now, I would definately buy them for the price, especially as Tescos take the pampers money off coupons even if your not buying them!0

I've found the Tesco and Asda newborn nappies as good as Pampers.0

I dont like tesco nappies, asda newborns were good, I bought cheap when he was newborn because of the amount you go through, I then went up to huggies, because tesco and asda ones are no good once they get more liquid going into them.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

As a mum of a 6 week old and 2 year old I've used both Tescos and pampers a lot recently!
The 2 year old has always been in pampers as she's had a sensitive bot but we started off in pampers for the 6 week old and I bought a pack of Tesco's newborn to try them. I think they're better than pampers and feel softer. Have now bought a pack of the large ones for the 2 year old as I've been so impressed.

Tescos nappies are nearly as evil as Huggies. Huggies caused my little ones terrible nappy rashes and also weren't good for containing explosions. We bought one pack of Tescos and ended up spending a fortune on stain removers as every one leaked! Pampers have always been my fave, nicer on botty and my local Asdas normally have hot deals on them. Failing that George (Asdas brand) is the closest that i have found.A banker is someone who lends you an umbrella when the sun is shining, and who asks for it back when it start to rain.0
