Finding a good seat on the aircraft

Often these days you can "check in online" and reserve your seat, but the seat plans are merely ways of showing you what's available and what's not - and fail to show you where the loos and galleys are which you would want to avoid being near etc.
Help is at hand... I found www.seatexpert.com and they currently cover the seat layouts on all the various types of planes operated by 84 airlines. Remember that the same aircraft type on different airlines can be a completely different layout..

I've just checked in online for a flight with Air Canada today, I used seatguru to find a good seat. It's really taken the stress out of getting to the check in desk and hoping that they're not full or wondering where you'll be sitting. I suppose that in most cases it doesn't matter where you sit but having that bit of control over it feels good. The whole airport thing can be quite stressful, maybe I'm just getting old!:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0

Don't forget not all the seats are released before the day of departure.
Just got my 800th post for that. :T**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0 -
Yep seat expert is a good one, thanks for posting that.

Actually, they are almost certainly better than any north American carrier.
I remember taking a flight with Vietnam airlines, and had no idea what to expect. They turned out to be excellent -- even better than Cathay Pacific.0 -
I flew with Laos airlines in March (luang prabang to Chiang Mai), they were absolutely fine. I think their safety record has improved over the last few years.
I know the EU banned a lot of airlines from flying to europe earlier this year and Laos airlines was not one of them (the ban also covers airlines that don't actually fly to the EU at present).0
