Grasping at straws

Hi, After having DLA refused on fist attempt I asked for a reconsideration by another decision maker. I had a phone call yesterday from a lovely lady from the DWP saying that she was looking at reinstating my allowance as it looked like it was very painful for me to walk. I have been on DLA for the last eight years and was shocked at being turned down on this application as my leg has become worse.
Am I grasping at straws regarding the fact that she said she is 'looking at reinstating it'. Have been so stressed waiting to hear, don't know if I am jumping the gun at being able to relax a little bit. She said she will give me the final decision next week, but surely she wouldn't say she was looking at reinstating it if she wasn't positive she was going to reinstate it. Would she?

    best of luck.
  • Well, after a very tense weekend, the waiting is now over. Thank goodness, in the post today a letter stating I have now been re-awarded high mobility and low care. The woman I spoke to on the phone the other day was exceptionally nice and very understanding, she actually listened to what I had to say and had my x-rays, notes in front of her. So it just goes to show that asking for an opinion from another Decision Maker does actually work. At last I can breathe again.
