Why has my monitor's display gone pink?

My Dell 17 inch Ultra Sharp flat screen has suddenly and overnight taken on a distinctly pink tinge on the display. Does this mean that the monitor is on the way out. It is at least four years old, low mileage, and I have reset and "twiddled" every button or control that I can find but witout success. has anyone experienced this before please?

Try unplugging and then reconnecting the monitor cable at both the pc and monitor, might have just loosened the connection. Used to happen to me on my old CRT displays

also make sure none of the vga pins are bent.
