xbox live unauthorised payments

I had an xbox for a week in November last year, it was borrowed from my brother to try it out.
And I've signed up for monthly live subs and to my horror I just found out that Microsoft is pulling money from my account on a regular basis.
I'm pretty sure that I've signed up for a one month non recurring account. Is there any way I can claim back the money..please advise.

Pretty sure you have signed up for a monthly recurring payment with Xbox.
You need to contact them to cancel the subscription. You got no hope of a refund thou. Your brother has probably been enjoying from free Xbox live at your cost.
You need to make sure your bro removes your details from his account aswell as he could potentially bill downloads etc on your card.

Hi there
What was it you paid, if it was for just the one month subscription? The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I just got a new Live account yesterday. The small print definitely states continuous monthly payment. Phone them to cancel this asap but you wont be entitled to a refund unless they show some goodwill on this. Worth a try to ask.Herman - MP for all!0

Look at the above statements separately and you will notice a contradiction. You say that you signed up for a monthly subscription and then a sentence later, you say you signed up for a one month non recurring subscription.Best Regards

Usually with these things there is no way to sign up for 'just one month' directly, often the only option is to sign up with recurring permission then have to immediately go in and cancel it as a separate action.
Most don't give refunds under any circumstances.0 -
if my experience is anything to go by, the wont deal with you! Your brother will have to phone and cancel it. They wouldnt let me deal with the money coming out of MY bank because the Xbox account was my sons!

Cancel with Microsoft. If they won't speak to you because it's not your account (or whatever) then send a recorded delivery letter to the most obvious address you have for them. Clearly it would be unreasonable if they have a system which allows them to use card details from someone other than the subscriber but there is no facility for the cardholder to cancel. It might be easier to get your brother to cancel though.
After that you can dispute further transactions as unauthorised.0 -
Thanks folks for all your feedback...what if I cancel the card...will that work0
