Is the barclaycard prechecker accurate?

I've just done it, and been told I have an 80-90% chance of getting a barclaycard simplicity.

But, looking at the summary box, it states you need to be 21 to apply. I'm 20....I did enter my date of birth on the prechecker.

Is there any point me applying? It looks like a nice card!

No point as that is basic requirements.

Unfortunately the only card you're eligible for right now would be the Barclaycard Initial.

When you hit 21 you can apply for any of them.

I guess the Pre-Checker really needs to be looked at by Barclaycard!!

I thought so, so I didn't apply. Thought I'd check though!

Oddly enough, the initial didn't come up....just the simplicity and the simplicity platinum.

Ah well. I'll just wait!

I assume you have limited or no credit history. If so, go for Barclaycard Initial - it's a credit builder card. It has the lowest interest rate out of all the credit builder credit cards.

If you are not successful, try your own bank, Capital One, Vanquis, or Aqua.
