Credit Card settlement

Can I expect a credit card company to give a discount if I settle the debt. For example, if I owed £15000 and offered them £12000, will they accept that or just refuse the offer.

i think they only do this if you havent paid and are in major arrears.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Why do you think that they should offer you a discount?
  • to allow a conclusion to a badly used credit card

If the account has defaulted, yes. If not, no.

Don't pay any Full & Final Settlements without getting it in writing from them that they accept it to settle the debt. And don't accept a letter of acceptance if they mention acceptance of your money "Without Prejudice".
