Accommodation only with Thomson

Hi all,
I was looking at booking a package holiday with Thompson for this summer and was quoted just shy of £2200, I then looked at there accommodation only for the same hotel and looked at booking the same flights with Thomson separately and it came out to over £1000 cheaper!! The same dates, exactly the same flights and the same hotel even booked through the same website, the only thing that seems to be different is that we sort out our own transfers!!! So am I being blind here and totally missing something or can I seriously find the same holiday deal with the same company for £1000 less!! It's a Thomson only hotel and can only be booked through them during peak season, and will I still be able to use the Thomson kids clubs as although not booking a true package holiday I am still booking with Thomson.
This all seems too good to be true so thought I would pick all your brains and see if I missing something before I go ahead and book :-)
Thanks xx

You don't have the protection of the Package Travel Regulations, but for £1000 less than may not bother you.0

we did this last year with thomson and saved over £600  if you put in flights first then accommodation you can book transfers too
we went with the inlaws and had the same holliday but lot more cheaper

Thanks both :-) Luci what are the benefits of Package Travel Regulations? and also does anyone know if my daughter will still be able to use the Thomson kids clubs, as this is the main reason we want to go to this hotel. We normally stay at another hotel in the same area but my daughter is now 6 and at an age where she would enjoy the use of kids clubs and I've heard off friends that Thomson kids clubs are very good. So if she wouldnt be able to use the clubs we may as well stick to our normal hotel :-)0

ally,
if the write up of the hotel on an accommodation only basis mentions the kids club, then yes you should be ok. if it doesn't, then chances are that you may not be allowed the use of the kids club. this is normally down to the thomson liability insurnce, and the fact that it is covered with a package. However, there may be exceptions.
Finally, is it a Thomson kids club, or hotel kids club?

I went accomodation only last year with First Choice (all part of Thomson). We still had a welcome pack from Thomson, were invited to the welcome meeting, and had full access to the reps.
Not sure on kids club, but for everything else we were treated as Thomson customers. Daves advice is good, does the accomodation only section make reference to the kids club etc..? Probably worth a quick call to Thomson asking the question "If I book accomodation only with you can my child use your kids club" You don't have to mention you are booking flights & hotel separately to save money!0 -
Thanks luci, it really doesn't seem worth paying an extra £1000 for the package holiday benefits. :-) I have looked on the hotel description in the accommodation only section and it definitely does mention kids clubs so we should be able to use these :-) can't believe the saving you can make doing it this way, and I can't believe they can charge so much more for so little benefit. I think of all those people who see the price quoted and pay it, not knowing that just a few clicks away on the same site you could make such a saving!!! I think I shall book tomorrow :-D :j0

we used all the child groups and spoke to the reps more than what we would of if we had booked a package

We book our Thomson flights and hotel seperately and my daughter has always used the kids club. We always book through a First Choice shop though as they will accept a deposit but if you book with Thomson you have to pay full amount for flights and hotel up front.0
