anyone know where I can get a free guide or map of London please?

If it is for planning walking routes you can use googlemaps-click on get directions, click on walking person tab and put in 2 points e.g. starting postcode or place and point of interest or adddress postcode. For transport journeys you can use www.tfl.gov.uk -click on journey planner on the right hand side.
