Buyer wants to pay by money order

I have sold an item on Ebay but the buyer wants to pay by International Money Order. I don't have that option listed in my auctions and have never had one sent before. It will probably mean going to the bank and messing around which will cost me. This is the message I got from the buyer.


My paypal is not working right now, may I send and international money order???... I have done this many times in the past with UK sellers, I had a fraud charge recently and think that this might be the reason that it is too slow to pay for anything right now...


Can I refuse this method without being hauled over coals by Ebay ?

Someone once sent me an International Money Order - it was in USD and the bank wanted more than the face value to accept it.

I am not sure about International Money Orders in GBP?

I had one once and it was very expensive to change.

I believe they can pay by bank transfer at the buyers cost if they pay in sterling but I don't know a lot about this, someone will probably be along later with more info.

Yes, they can pay you using this at their cost and it is expensive for them but some buyers have paid me this way. You need to send them all your acount details, including IBAN etc......
