From The Ridiculous to The Sublime (Hopefully)

Until a few weeks ago I had an Aqua and a Vanquis card, both with balances of about £1500, I'd taken my eye off the ball a bit and was only making minimum payments but they had always been on time. The Vanquis card had a credit limit of £3k and the Aqua £1900.

This month I've paid off the Vanquis in full and asked to close the account, this will take 'a few days'.

I now have an outstanding balance of just under £1500 on the Aqua account and I'd like to transfer it to a 0% card. I've put my details into the MoneySupermarket credit card search and I've been told that I have a 7/10 chance of getting a Barclaycard Platinum, A Bank of Ireland, an M&S and a John Lewis card. The balance transfer rates are similar and the interest free period ranges from 6 to 17 months.

I'm not currently earning a salary, my income comes from partner's job. I've had my current account with the same bank for almost 10 years and my mortgage payments are up to date.

Which card am I most likely to get and shall I wait for a month for the closure of my Vanquis account to show up on my credit report?

And I don't have a bad credit history, there have been a couple of late payments in the last six years but no CCJs or non-payments. I applied for these cards because I'd never had any credit before.
