Two credit cards --- Credit File

Hi all,

I currently have two credit cards, one with Halifax and one with Santander.

At the moment, both have a zero balance and aren't in any 0% on payments or balance transfer period offers. Therefore, I'm wondering how these will affect my credit file and whether it is better that I close down one of them or whether it is better to leave the two open even though I'll only ever use one again if at all, just to show that I'm good with credit in terms of being clear and trustworthy - if that makes sense?

Thanks in advance!

I have identified both of these accounts as maybe something I should have.
    1. I like the 5% interest on the santander Zero account and also the 'non-commision' on euro withdrawls.
    2. the moneysaving expert website identifies the halifax clarity card account as:- a) non-commision on euro withdrawls and b) offers the best rate for euro exchange.

If we should discover that santander zero current account gives as good an exchange rate as the halifax, then I could go with just one account. (If i stay in the black i can ignore my credit rating as i will never need to borrow!)
    Eddmac2, Have a great day
