1st Posting-Disabled-Can I get cheaper Gas & Elelctric?
Hello
This is my 1st post..hello!!
This website is great and so informative.
I was wondering if anyone can advise me please. I am disabled and basically housebound. Im paying £72.00 a month at the moment for gas and electric. This is to scottish power. My daughter whos 10 is also partially sighted. As Im at home 99% of the time, we do use alot of gas and electric to heat the house as I suffer from LUPUS and FMS as well as other things, so am very cold alot of the time. We do all the normal cut back things with the heating, like putting on a thermo etc, I have a quilt over me in the lounge to save putting heating up etc if im very cold. We have a gas fire in the lounge and if im very cold that goes on for a couple of hours. I wear thick clothes, socks etc. Im 30 going on 90
Was wondering if there are any companies that supply cheaper fuel to disabled people who use a higher volume of heating etc??
Thanks so much. I cant wait to get more posts in.

I do not believe that there are specific cheap fuel schemes for disabled people and you get any financial assistance required from Social Security.
You should confirm this with the Citizen's Advice BureauxRobert0 -
I dont know of any specific disability discounts, have you tried uswitch.com? Worth a bash. Im just in the process of leaving Scottish Power to save myself 7 quid a month.0

Hi Mads13
It seems you can get on a Priority Register, see The EnergyShop Website
You may be able to get a Cold Weather Payment (DWP site)
This site seems to have a lot of info & links: The Disabled Living Foundation
Hope this is of some use.Torgwen.......... ...........0
