Peugeot 307 advice please

Am looking for some advice ref a 2007 Peugeot 307 which my wife bought and which has now broken down with a possible £1000 bill to fix.

Bit of background first though. My wife bought the car back in August last year. It was an ex-mobility vehicle 3 years old, nice car only 25k on the clock and as it was at the 3 year point the mobility people passed it on as is the custom i believe. Got a 3 month no quibble warranty but as you would expect no problems.

Cut forward to last saturday and the wife broke down on the M5 doing about 70mph. Engine just cut and AA man said no hope of fixing as there was no compression. Garage have now had a look and the waterpump was knackered, the timing belt chewed so they replaced however...

Still no compression so they are looking at the Valves...:(

Both the garage and the AA have been surprised at the faults on this car for the very low mileage and for the age of the car.

My question is do i have any case for going back to the peugeot main dealer and raising this or as it is past the 3 year warranty am i stuck with it and the accompanying large bill.

all advice gratefully received
Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.

If you have proof that it has been regularly serviced at a Peugeot main dealer, then the manufacturer might help.

If its at a Peugeot dealer now they can ask for assistance for you, tho you may struggle as you didn't buy it from new and you haven't paid yourself for any main dealer services.
  • Not at a main dealer now just a normal garage that we always use as we can trust them.

I think i will get repaired then pitch up at the main dealer and see what they say. doesn't hurt i suppose :(

if you do that you will not get any help off PUG,you need to speak to them first before any stripping/repairing is done
