Capital management and investment PLC

I know this is probally a scam so in writing this i'm asking for some advice and also letting other know what's going on
Today i received a call from a company call diversified portfolio management investments telling me that they are acting on behalf of another company who are looking to purchase 51% share in Capital management and investment PLC they are contacting as many share holders as they can to acheive this, if i was to agree to sell they will sent a form to send back registering my interest once they have enough to meet 51% they would then be in touch to pay £16 per share which is way over the current value. Since this first call i have since received another call from a different company asking to buy these shares both are calling from USA saying New York neither would go into much detail both have said not to discuss this with anyone as not to ruin the deal (Yeh right) also my tel number is ex directory how do they know i hold shares in this company how did they get me number they also knew how many shares i hold can someone shed so light on what these people are up to has anyone else had similar calls

They probably got some or all of your details from the share register. It's a well known scam where they offer to pay large sums for shares with little or no value. If you follow it up sooner or later you will be asked to pay some sort of fee. It's known as "advance fee fraud". They will take your money and run.
