Best way to move things to USA

I am moving to USA to work there for a few years. I have to move most of my things there (not exactly the whole house to ship in a container) Probabley, about 10 big boxes. Has anyone got any experience in moving household things abroad. I was thinking of doing a air cargo arrangement but not sure how to. Whats the best way to do it? Any suggestions will be appreciated. It's for American expats living in this country. You should find lots of advice there on moving stuff to the US. There is one section called "moving issues" which hopefully will have plenty of information.

Find out how much excess baggage costs with your airline before you fly, and how much you can take. When I moved back from the States, it was cheaper to pay the $40 per bag excess, than it would have been to ship it ( a lot cheaper, lol).
