Hi all
I've just this minute cancelled Sky after 10 years...if they would have offered the 50% off for 6 months that others on here appear to have got I may have taken them up, but they didn't and that's the way it goes...
now I'm used to using my sky+ and being able to freeze the picture and record programmes etc and have no experience with freeview which I have built in to my telly...daft question but can I get a device to do the same as sky + with my freeview and if so any recommendations
thanks

Yes, any Freeview PVR will do the same job as Sky+. I would recommend the Humax PVR 9300T, Richer Sounds have some good deals on that.
However this assumes that you already have a proper rooftop aerial fitted and working in order to get Freeview.
If not, your best and cheapest option is a Freesat PVR (I recommend the Humax Foxsat HDR) which is just a straight box swap for your Sky+ box-no modifications needed to dish, cabling or LNB. This route also has the advantage of giving you the FReesat HD channels.
The 3rd option is to just keep your Sky+ box to receive the Freesat from Sky channels, however in order to keep the PVR functionality you will have to pay Mr Murdoch £10 a month forever...No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
thanks macman
I have an ariel from before I had the Sky dish...but the second option freesat PVR sounds good
