Focus Groups - getting paid for your opinion

Hi-
I posted this as a response but thought I would start a thread as there doesn't appear to be an up to date one on here anymore.
I am not affiliated with any website I am just recommending as people seem to ask how they can make cash and this is a very easy way!
I am a massive fan of focus groups as a way of earning some extra cash - especially if you have time on your side.
Focus groups are market research where you get paid for your time and opinions on various subjects.
You register on some sites, keep checking them for new groups and apply if you fit their requirements. They are mostly in London to be honest but you do get them UK wide.
I work in London and go after work or in my lunch break but one came up for me this month for £160 so I took a half day as it was well worth it!
You get good money for simply being honest about what you think, and normally they provide free tea, coffee, soft drinks and sandwiches etc - one group I attended even had free wine!
The best sites I use are focus4people.com, focusforce.net and saros research.
It isn't regular as it depends on the type of people they are looking for but you can earn quite a bit if you are lucky.
Good luck!

I'm with Saros. Done a few through them. Getting paid to sit talking for 2 hours (or less) is bloomin' great
The only thing we know for sure, is that we know nothing0 -
I register for a while on Paid Focus Group.
Have received only very few invite but got one recently for a focus group in London so it works.
Not sure how often though. 2014: £20 voucher from SurveyFriends, £10 cash payout from Panel Opinion too and working towards more from Valued Opinions currently.
2013: £35 and £50 vouchers from SurveyFriends! More than £15 made from other paid surveys sites (Yougov, Panel Opinion, Valued Opinions, Pinecone, etc.) Happy so far!0 -
Are these London based sites or all over the UK? I am based in Manchester and I attended a 2 hour group with research opinions this week. Really good - £60 cash for 2 hours that went very fast...

I'd love to join something like this but there don't seem to be any opportunities in Cornwall.Don't mess with pensioners. :cool:0

Yeah all the ops seem to be in London. For the occasional £160 survey though then I dont mind travelling!0

is a London based one but they are not only having groups in London obviously, currently looking for people from Leeds, so I guess it doesn't matter where the company is based.
This one is obviously for all the UK. 2014: £20 voucher from SurveyFriends, £10 cash payout from Panel Opinion too and working towards more from Valued Opinions currently.

Anyone got any focus group sites in Manchester? I'm in North Wales so unfortunately for me I have to keep an eye on my uni for any opportunities but I'm wondering if it would be good for my OH to do to get some quick cash.
Is Gumtree ok to look on?£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0 -

I live in London so can't tell but I guess Manchester is a pretty convenient place for that.
Gumtree could work but definitely lots of scams in it too so be aware

Hi, I am also based not too far from Manchester. Please could you give me the name their website where I can register? Thanks0 -
Www.researchopinions.co.uk
They dont just do focus groups - my recent one was an £180 study over a 12 week period testing a new product.
Intertek is another Manchester one to check out ;-)Addicted to MSE
