Just thought I'd post this to anyone who's after a cheap decent component cable...
(Have a look to see if you DVD/Recorder has component out, as you may well notice a PQ difference from a standard scart cable)
PCWorld are doing the PureAV blue range that is £24.99 instore.
Get a collect@store code to get it for £7.49. Or go through Quidco if having it delivered.

Sounds good, what would I need for my Panasonic ES20D and Topfield 5800 PVR, currently I just have cheapo scarts.
I am thinking of replacing the ES20D with the newer model which is HDMI, so does this mean its better connected via this method?0 -
Yes, this deal has been on for ages actually
Definitely component, and quite chunky too.
Happy enough with mineBe nice0 -

What you would benefit from your Topfield 5800 PVR is a scart>component cable such as this.
The Topfield outputs the component signal (YPbPr) through the scart rather than having seperate component connections.
HDMI is "supposedly" the best, as it is a digital signal and is 1 & 0s rather than analogue (component). But this varies on the inputs from panel to panel, and you might find component provides a picture you prefer.
This is the guideline of the ranking of video connections;
HDMI/DVI
Component
Scart (RGB)
S-video
Composite (not to be confused with component; its a single yellow RCA)
Hope this helps

HankMcSpank, If I remember correctly your peskywinnets on the avforums?
Hows your PQ42-1 going? Mines just about to be mounted on the wall with my complete av setup (finally).
I'll be posting some pics on avforums, so look out for them.0 -
PC World currently showing this as DELIVERY ONLY - ie with NO collect at store option - hence £3.99 delivery surcharge.
ie at Thu 9/11 at 11.40pm... hopefully at store again soon...
UPDATE: Friday 10/11 1.30pm - both delivery (+£3.99) and Collect at store showing as TICKED - though obviously will still need to see if YOUR local store has it in stock (allegedly). Guess the late night not available to collect MIGHT be part of the DSG overnight data processing/stock updating.0 -
