Nationwide / UK Insurance Travel Insurance

Someone posted here the other day (can't find the post) stating that the free Nationwide travel insurance was "a very good policy". I beg to differ.
I called UK Insurance tonight to enquire about upgrading the policy to worldwide. The advisor wasn't happy when I said I wanted to ask a few questions before deciding whether to go ahead.
I asked if they covered natural catastrophes such as volcano ash - No; Scheduled Airline failure - No and without asking he told me that they don't cover industrial action or strikes either.
When I said that it didn't seem to be a very good policy, he barked back that it was a 5 star Defaqto policy and that it was up to me to make sure it covered my needs. Well that was what I was trying to do.
I have since looked at the policy online and under Industrial Action it just states that it doesn't cover strikes announced before the policy was taken out. However that is not what he said.
Apart from this the advisor was impatient/reluctant to answer my questions and it felt as if he wanted me off the phone as quickly as possible. I felt the same the last time I called them, they weren't at all helpful.
Although I would be considerably cheaper upgrading my policy rather than getting one elsewhere, I am not willing to use a company if their customer service is poor at this stage as I dread to think what would happen in the event of a claim.
