Appliance insurance

Hi,

Could you please advise me:

On contacting Indesit to repair my washing machine; I was told it would cost £100.00 for a call out visit although all parts were free, or I could pay 10 monthly instalments @ £16.49 for insurance. I have other appliances from Indesit and the same insurance company sent me a leaflet to ask if I wanted to cover all of my appliances for just over £11. I have spoken to them and they have said I can't cancel my existing policy. On asking Indesit why is it more expensive with them, they replied; because you did it as an emergency??????

Thanks

Regards

Jax

    Hi and welcome

I don't know much about these actual policies but maybe someone will and post up soon, however I assumed your able to cancel at any time, check the policy details, if you no longer have these, request for them, they should send them free of charge.

Meanwhile, hopefully someone will be along soon to help, good luck.

If you want the current "issue" paid for under the insurance then its normal for that to be factored into the first years premium. The cheaper insurance is not paying for the current issue/event. Hence the price difference. Thats how I am interpreting it and that is typically the model used by appliance/heating insurance etc.
