Star Wars Force Action Lightsaber

Force action lightsaber -my children want one of these for christmas and i was under the impression that they fold in completely, not like the other lightsabers that light up, however when i saw them in the box at Tesco today they weren't closed right up. Has anybody got one and do they fold in completely? Hope that makes sense.

okay, just checked my sons and the coloured bit (red in our case) does fold away completely into the handle. The handle is about 10" long.
