Toshiba Regza Help Required

Hi

Please could someone maybe help me on this one..

Daughter was watching Dora earlier when she said Dora had gone but i could hear it, so we had sound but no picture after checking all the cables and connections they seemed ok, turned it off to see if it would reset now we have no sound no picture.

Has anyone had a similar problem, or is there a kind techie person who could offer any advise.

What was the source and how was it connected?
Do you have any AV amp and separate speakers?

We are connected through sky box and don't have AV amp or seperate speakers

Scart lead or HDMI?

I'm guessing scart and it seems as if it is loose or damaged, when you turned everything off and on again, did you select the correct input?

Have changed the scart lead for a different one, nothing there, the only thing that is a bit odd is when you try and switch it on from standby (only option on this Toshiba TV) it normally makes 2 clicks as it goes on but it is only making one click at the moment and can't access anything no picture no sound, the standy LED goes from red to green but thats about it.

So it cant display anything? not even the TVs own menu system?

Thats clearly not good and sounds as if it needs to be a warranty job.

Thanks i thought that might be the case its out of warranty now, after my last experiance of taking it away for a month then it being mega expensive to fix, i think i will start my search for a new one and hopefully find a bargain !

My Parents Regza failed outside of warranty, I called Toshiba directly and they advised the panels were no longer available for repair/replacement. We had to provide a copy of the receipt from comet (via fax) and a week later we got a letter telling us to go to Comet and take the letter along.

Comet refunded the full £1200 on a gift card and we purchased a new LED LG 42" and still had £400 left on the gift card to spend on other goodies.
