I am getting married in March and really need some ideas.
Im looking for some table centre pieces on the guest tables.
I have been quoted from £8 per table and I have a big wedding. Its 80 tables which means alot of money.
I have been looking at candles and also floral arrangements. Is there anyone who can advise me what i can do to bring down the costs maybe.
I dont mind having to make things.
Thank you

How about some fishbowls and place floating candles in them, found a cheap website that sell them:

I can say hands down the best thing I put on my tables was disposable cameras, everyone loved them and I loved seeing all the pictures people had taken.
Not much help for the centres I guess sorry we were quite traditional and just had some small bowls of flowers
A great day tho and lots of happy guests, have fun planning0 -
My table centres looked great (well I thought so anyway lol), and I did them myself the day before, I don't know if that's an option for you? I filled clear square vases with pink roses which I bought from sainsburys, and tied pink ribbon round the vase, then scattered pink petals (freeze dried ones from an online company) on the tables. It was so cheap and to be honest I wasn't entirely sure how it would look but they turned out really well. I also took cellophane with me and wrapped the flowers up afterwards and handed them out as favours to the ladies so I saved on that too.0

Just to add too that the Martha Stewart website had some lovely ideas for making your own centrepieces, I spent ages looking at the site but as I have zero craft skills decided against it!0

Is your budget important that is to say how much can you afford per table (80 tables - wow)! And whats your theme/style/colours?
Do you want cheap and disposable, rented, resell-able or not bothered?A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
80 tables??? my god, how many people do you know? lol. Maybe an organza strip down the table, quite wide in your wedding colour, and a single fake orchid stem in a vase(from ikea) in the middle, and flower petals(fake ebay) scattered about. Balloons are cheap, but some people dont like balloons, or a candle in a hurricane vase. Does the venue not have stuff to hire for the tables?0

What area of UK do you live then we might find a shop local to you.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

Thank you for all the ideas and help. I am looking into these. The theme is red and gold.
We are already having the organza table runners going through the centre of the table.
The wedding is in Leicester.
Also yes 80 tables, I am from a big family and an extended family as well. So its alot of people0 -
we had fish bowls with calla lillies and jewels in. were £27 per table for our arrangements but luckily we only had 10 tables to dress.....
we put disposable cameras on each table with a laminated card next to it saying please help us capture our big day or something like that.... what i also should have added was please use the flash! this also happened at my friends wedding. we didnt realise there was a bit on the front you pressed in to switch the flash on. a lot of our pictures came out grainy or dark!
so either push the flash in yourself when you are dressing your tables or leave a note advising people how to do this. or nominate bridesmaid or someone to take care of this for you
hope this helps0 -
It will be spring when you marry so you could consider tullips but what flowers are you carrying?Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0
