Stand where you are...
Sky are at the mercy of BT Openreach for phone / broadband installations as are all other telephone providers. The equipment at the exchange is probably Skys but the service and installation is carried out by BTO as they are the only people allowed in the exchanges.
If you cancelled and changed to a different provider, you'd have the same or longer wait. A nice e-mail to the chairman of Sky venting the poor communication and service would be an idea here but I wouldn't hold out much.0 -
ok thankyou, just annoying when theres nothing you can do about it without losing money and they know it!0

The same happenned to me. I originally went with BT but changed my mind as Sky had a better phone deal. The advisor at Sky informed me he would cancel the BT contract and i believed him, this never happenned and now im fighting with BT to get out of a 2 yr contract.
Sky installed the tv within a week, the internet and phone a mth later on 28th Jan. I happenned to ring sky on the am of 28th to make sure all was going to plan, i was livid to find out its going to be another mth! no phone call no letter telling me nothing and to make it worse i had taken the day off.
Its been an absolute nightmare, no phone or internet for nearly 2 mths with 4 children driving me nuts and using a dongle that works when it feels like it.0
