hey all
ive been an on and off visitor of the forums for the past, well nearly 2 years now, and i have now finally got things in place and decided the best thing to do is set a date.
main reason i did this is i worked over christmas on nights so i got about £700 pre tax and managed a few more hours of OT also so should have the £600 required for the BR which was the plan from the go when i knew i was working xmas middle of the year.
the main reason i decided i must get on and do this is im currently on the sick since just before new year as i lost my grandma end of november and ive never felt so unhappy but i HAD to work xmas to push through and get the money i needed for BR.
so im currently off sick and im off to the doctors again this evening and ive explained everything and im hoping he will agree to sign me off till after everything is sorted, say a week or so after the BR is done.
basic rundown of my current situartion:
i had my house reposessed just over a year ago now and have now moved into rented accomadation, i work full time and have done since i was 17 at the same company (im now 25) i spend all day yesterday getting the paperwork in order and other then a binbag full of trash i sorted out all my statements, bills, court orders, debt collector letters and the current state is £52,000 ish plus whatever i owe northern rock for the outstanding house (i also have a £5k unsecured loan with them to add to the outstanding but i dont want to ring them until nearer the time to stop the chance of them getting in touch)
i will sort out a SOA in the next couple of days and post it for checking but im still waiting to get child tax credits sorted as i have requested it no less then 5 times and im still waiting for the forms to come through (i think they still get sent to my old address
anyway i just thought i should show my face again as i know i will be here a lot in the next couple of weeks.
but as strange as it felt i really enjoyed getting things sorted yesterday it really helped clear my mind and the feeling that this is finally getting sorted was really nice.
sorry for the long post but i just had a lot to get off my mind

so just sitting here thinking ive got a couple of questions.
1,is it worth going to get a co op cashminder account open now and get ready to transfer in my wages?
2,im due for 'good' payrise in april (wether being on sick will stop that i dont know) if its good will i have to tell the OR and is it possible they may set up a IPA if they didnt initally?
3, i intended to join the pension in april also (as i always said when i turn 25 but it will be 26 in april) will the OR be ok with this?
4, the only real valuble i have is a custom guitar, which is very very close to my heart and i would be devistated if i lost it, from 2005 completely off record so do i have to mention it as it cost £1700 but would maybe get £500 as its personalised yet to get another one would now cost £3500 due to the exchange rate and increase in material cost.
5, could they punish me for getting a few people xmas gifts, as i got my wife glee tickets and spent £150 on my daughter but over a few months?0 -
Personally I'd get the account now, that way they'll be no interruption to bill payments and you know your wages wont get 'lost'.
There is a thread on here (somewhere near the top) about new rules for IPA's and after having read them I think that yes the OR will want any extra income.
Not sure about the pension thing. Existing ones are ok, but not sure how they'll feel about you just starting one, might need to wait until you're discharged.
Guitar - not sure, might be like our kitcar, not worth a lot to anyone else, but had to get valuation then sold it to a friend, OR didnt really care as long as he got something for it, so keep the valuation as low as you can. Find a friendly music shop would be my guess and go prepared with their valuation.
They wont punish you - but they will want to see that you've tried to remedy the situation, they might frown a bit, but don't usually bite! x0 -

Hope this helps?:pB&SC No. 298

thanks for the replys, im at the doctors at 5pm so if i can get the rest of the time off work it would be a big load off my mind as i still dont feel right but better now the tablets are working.
seems like so much to do but i plan on having a good read through all the paperwork tonight and possibly start filling the forms in in the next couple of days, should be a lot easier now i have sorted out all my paperwork so i can get accurate figures for my wage
i may also tell my manager i am no longer working overtime due to stress which will put me on a regular salary as its normally the month after a good month that always seems like ive got no money... may not make me very popular as being off with depression is already peeing off a couple of people
(surprisingly its the people who have no problem calling in sick for the slightest thing themselves)0 -
so been to the doctors and he has given me another 2 weeks off but said he cant give me more as its a personal issue and not medical even though we both agree is its the main cause, i think its also the max he can give at a time from a couple of people ive talked to.
i think ill sort out another week or so off though if needed as im off till the 27th and if i was to return it would be straight onto nights then i would finish 7am on the 21st which isnt good for a 9.15 appointment.0
