I dont know if this is a silly question or not but any advice would be appreciated. I have been pensioned off sick from work after 36 years with the same company, i am 53. I have had 3 knee replacement since January on the same leg, i am now unable to do the job that i was employed for. This should not stop me in about 3 months looking for other work which might have to be part time. I had my last operation in November when i was on half pay, i start to receive my pension on Jan 28th.As i have never claimed before i am not sure what to do people keep telling me i should be able to make a claim until i am fit enough to work. But bare in mind my pension which is £17000 per year and my wife works full time, i dont want to come across greedy but if i am entitled to anything ive paid for it.

Your pension may be too high for contributions based ESA. Do you have any care and /or mobility needs? You may qualify for DLA. For DLA, your income, that of your partner and what NI you have paid in are irrelevant.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Yep, even taking into account the taper reduction in eligibility the pension income will be too high.Gone ... or have I?0
