I don't send Ebay items out of the UK now for this reason...
Here's how it goes:
- Send anything outside the UK and you pretty much have to take PayPal
- PayPal will automatically refund a buyer who says an item hasn't arrived if you can't provide tracking information
- The only international option for getting a signature is International Signed For
- This then upts up the price of shipping by £3.50 before you even weight the item
- Once you send it International Signed For YOU CANNOT TRACK IT ONLINE
- You can track UK signed-for items online when they have been signed for, but with International Signed For you will get:
"We have received your item, posted on dd/mm/yy and it is being processed for delivery abroad."
It will say this from the moment it leaves the UK, until the day it disappears from the Royal Mail database, WHETHER THE ITEM GOT TO IT'S DESTINATION OR NOT
What option do you have then when a seller asys an item never arrived? Fill out a form that Royal Mail give you and after a few weeks, you will hear that unfortunately they could not find the package.
No real shock there, but for my money, I don't want the hassle.0 -

It really depends on whether Royal Mail has been able to integrate with that country's major parcel distribution companies. Basically, Royal Mail can only guarantee and track the U.K. leg of the journey. It's taking them a while to sort out integration to all the parcel companies in all the other countries.
That's also why I do not send Ebay items outside of the U.K. as I offer a complete guarantee.
