I have a parcel to get to the US which is about 6kg can anyone recommend a courier - never done it before!?

I need it to be there by end of November. DHL was far too expensive unfortunately but if I separte the item into smaller parcels I could send it airmail cheaper. But thanks anyway.

If you can get bits under 2kg, its much cheaper by airmail royal mail!

Just posting this to let you know of my recent experience with Royal Mail. I sent an item back to an Ebay seller and the parcel was never delivered. I waited the 15 days before making the claim to Royal Mail. After a couple of weeks of hearing nothing I called them up and was told that there was a backlog of dealing with new claims and it would be dealt with in due course. Some weeks passed and still nothing....so I called them again, to be told that the claim form had never been received! They then sent me a letter with a pre paid envelope to resubmit the documetation in regards to my claim. That letter was sent to the wrong address and it arrived today 5 days late. So after posting a parcel at the begining of Sept I am still waiting for the claim process to begin. I have posted the documentation back to them today, so I wait with baited breath to see what the next episode has in store.

I regularly send items overseas, on each occasion use interparcel. Type in destination, weight and dimensions. They check all couriers to that destination and display. I have tried going direct to the chosen company to compare and found going direct is far more expensive eg DHL were £100 more for the same parcel.

You can book online, arrange collection from where-ever suits you, print off customs documents and bar code which you stick on your parcel. So far they have never let me down and you can track online. I had great fun watching a parcel to Malaysia. Typically a parcel to America will take 3-5 days.
