Me and the OH have recently bought a tent, looking for ideas that we could go to really.
Ideally with decent facilities (toilets, showers etc) also OH loves walking! So somewhere also with walking paths, local sites etc.
Not really to bothered on prices, or if anyone has any recommendations for parts of Europe also please recommend as my options are open! :j
Trying to surprise him for his birthday, which is in May but want to try organise everything before hand, he loves this sort of thing and is ALWAYS going on about these type of holidays, but I really have no idea where to start!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
We go camping often, in the UK I am finding it increasingley more expensive.
We use Municipal campsites in France and you can can find some excellent sites for 10 euros, find a region you fancy, then look at the tourist info office online, there is usually a link for accomodation, then click through to camping. Big cities and towns cost a bit more, but small idyllic villages and small towns are cheap.
Last year we drove through Europe on a camping trip, Germany and Holland were expensive, Czech Republic was favourite, and averaged at £12 per night for family of 5 plus 2 dogs. Poland we hated and would never recommend camping there.
Have a friend in Wales with a lovely small site, toilet but no showers, £8 per night, but it always rains when we visit!
There are several camping guides that you can buy, but I do all my research online.

Little Trevarrack, in Carbis Bay near St Ives. Loads of lovely coastal walks and towns etc.
And brilliant site - its cleaned twice a day, really secure, can pick your pitch on their website.

We recommend it to anyone we know asking about Cornwall as we loved it.0 -

I second Selbel's recommendation od UKCS. ANything you wnat to know about camping thats the place to find it out!! Reviews on the campsites are made by people like myself, not a glosy magazine editor, so they are usually honest reviews.0

You need to narrow down where you want to go or what you want to do or find on the campsite.
There are thousands and thousands of campsites, We have camped in london, Which surprised me when
i found the site.
We love cornwall especially if its warm enough for the sea. Skegness & Mablethorpe is cheap...Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
We have used this campsite in the lakes often.
It has toilets and a shower - not amazing but has 2 pubs close, beautiful walks and is really quiet!
In fact, it's where I proposed to DH - so it means a special something to us!It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice0 -
We started camping last year and by far the best site i have been on was the wild rose in Appleby in Cumbria. We went using the tokens out of the daily mirror for 99p a night. 3 days cost us £6 with an electric hookup. The site is beautifully maintained and facilities are excellent.
I went to Haven (reighton sands) in Yorkshire. Never again i nearly blew away and kids kept playing football on my guy ropes.
Totally agree with the other posters about ukcampsite its a fantastic website, the forums on their are excellent.0
