Hi, I am looking at the list of holiday parks and need help.....
We have never been on caravan holidays, but thinking of choosing Heven site - heard that they are usually good.
I am all confused with the locations, we are family of 4 (two kids: 3 year old and 1.5 year old), don't want to travel very far from London so thinking about Sussex, Kent or Dorset.
So far thought about: Church Farm (Pagham) but not sure about pebble beach (kids would prefer sandy beach) and Rockley Park (Dorset).
I'd appreciate any recommendations.....

Hi,
I have been to a few Haven sites and all have good and bad points to them. We did go to the Pagham one last year and while it is nice I would say it is one of the quieter ones and not really much to do on the site. However, we did use it as a base really as we decided to visit Longleat Safari Park and Chessington World of adventures for days out and from what I remember there are quite a few places you can visit as we felt there isn't enough to do on site to fill the days (hope that makes sense).
We also found the Showbar area to be very small and this filled very quickly - if you go after 7 you have no chance of getting a seat and we went during school time as well.
Hope this helps,

Good bus service rght outside the camp into Poole centre. No sandy beach at poole( pebble beach just down the road at hamworthy park & beach, 5 mins from rockley)you would have to go by car or bus to Sandbanks, a peninsular just to the south of poole about 15mins from rockley.
Lovely area to visit. Loads for kids to do with upton country park just down the road.0 -
Thank you. Rockley Park sounds great, never been to Dorest (I know, shame on me...) and always go for holidays abroad so it will be a new experience.0

Been to Prestatyn, would not go again, really noisy and raucous with two (were quite) small kids, people getting trashed in their caravans into the small hours.
Cherry Tree Great Yarmouth was good through the Sun holidays, also Kidwelly Carmarthenshire (Wales) excellent and near a theme park and fab farm
We are going to Wales again but we are going to try Kiln Park Haven site in Tenby (Wales) which is near Carmarthenshire so we can visit Oakwood Theme Park and Folly Farm (both very good for young kids, ours are 4 and 8)0 -

Sandford Holiday Park in Poole Dorset is a great park, gets very busy at peak times but so do all family sites really, we found apart from drinks on nights out we didnt have to pay for anything else, loads for kids to do, kids clubs and the entertainment was second to none..Obviously this is just my opinion but its somewhere to think about....DFW red and green memberDoing my best to lose weight and save money0 -
We've also been to the Haven in Prestatyn, we had a great time though - no issues with noise or anything like that, infact the only time we really noticed people around the caravan areas was on the Monday when we were all packing up to go home. We're going back again in April so just hope it's as nice this time as it was before!0

when I was a kid we have a caravan at Rockley Park (wasnt haven back then) and loved it. We went every summer and most weekends in spring.
Its just outside Poole near Hamworthy (Recommend the beach there as doesnt get as busy as sandbanks but is pepples). There is also Poole Park which the kids would love ( I know I did)! Brownsea Island is a good day out. Lots to do in Dorset!
The site its self has an indoor and outdoor pool and plenty of entertainment.
Church Farm is located near Bognor Regis which isnt far from where I live now and there is not much to do in the area. Chichester has a few bits and bobs and Portsmouth is up the road bout 30 min drive but there is more in my opinion in the Rockley Park area. I would recommend this park!0 -
warmwell in dorset is lovely too. hoping to go back this time!!0

Following all the suggestions seems like Dorset will be our choice. And thank you for all the recommendations in Wales - sounds great but I'm worried about longer journey from London as my youngest son suffers from travel sickness ( he is a teribble case, we traveled a lot last summer, then he was only 1 year old and was getting sick every time - strangely enough he is fine on normal journeys around the town, only gets sick in london if we are off to the aiport.....)
One more questions, I was thinking about Heven site but now wondering about others - parkdean, park holidays etc. Is there a much difference when it comes to them?0
