OMG - that is completely mad.....

yes, I agree that he should not have been damaging the trees but if that was the problem, why was he told to remove ALL the posters?

This guy was on the radio the other day and said that whilst the fine could have been up to £1000, it most probably wouldnt have been. The part of the story where it says he rushed about to remove all of them, is also untrue. He removed a few and the council said they would remove the rest for him. He also nailed them onto trees with sometimes up to 6 nails. He also commented that he found the councils approach justified.

Looks like the media has blown it completely out of proportion, as usual.

If you stick them up with a staple, I cant see anyone being bothered!!

I find it very frustrating when signs aren't removed. You wonder if he animal has turned up or not. A dog went missing on a walk about 5-6 miles from its home. The owners put signs up i every village/walking spot between the walk and their home....not so many its very rural. This was last winter before christmas. I mentioned it to some one who had sai they knew the dog and was told that it had turned up the next day. I telephone my parents to tell them they could remove the posters form their village. Over a year later.
