I have an interview at newcastle Uni. Can anyone recomend a budget hotel to stay in. ( ONLY FOR 1 NIGHT) I am familar with getting the train down from the airport to central station but not too sure where the Uni is from there ? it seems to be near St James park the football ground ?

You can find campus maps here http://www.ncl.ac.uk/about/visit/maps.htm
If you are getting the metro from the Airport got off at Haymarket station. There isn't much accommodation right by the university, but there are the usual budget hotel chains in the city centre.0 -
Try some of the chains in Jesmond which is between the airport & Haymarket0

Nowhere that's on the Metro is that far from anywhere in Newcastle, to be honest, so get decent accommodation that's within your budget.
If you have an interview you'll want a decent night's sleep. Avoid the Travel lodge - we stayed there the night of our son's graduation. It was one of the most awful - and at times - scariest - nights of my life:

Also avoid the Osborne Hotel - ditto - stag/hen parties; unconcerned owners -

Really well done for getting an interview there - and good, good, good luck. My son's just graduated, and had a fantastic time - and education - there.Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -
There is a Premierinn at the airport. Then get off the metro at the Haymarket, the uni is about 2 minutes from there on foot.0
