What to do with remaining Days - London or Amsterdam

Ive been off work all week and been toying with a couple of Ideas.probably left them too late. Its hard to drag yourself out of bed to make a decent crack at the Free Day.

One was to go to London one day on the train from Durham.
To either go and see some Sights, ive been all over the world but not London ( scandalous I know)

Or to go to london to the mphshow.co.uk - motorshow. I just missed out on the Birmingham one and so my only other option is to get the Train to London. Im a bit put off by the Train journey & then getting around london, never done Subway. I need to hear some ppls experiences & how to get around or what to do.
It would only be for 1Day.
3hrs Train journey there & back

Another was to go to Amsterdam from Newcastle on the Ferry. Two Night City Cruise to Amsterdam. Sale overnight there & back inc a Cabin, and one day coach sightseeing. 106-no meals.

154 including two breakfast & two evening Meals (buffet)
Ive been put off the Amsterdam trip considering our freezing weather over the last few days & winds. Thought it would make for a rough crossing on the North Sea.
All the above Ideas would be on my own.

What do you think I should do?

Ive already wasted most of the Week. I have quite a few days off still to use up.
In the past Ive done loads of Travelling around the world, however for the last 6months Ive had my own place...well im sure you all know how it is with money.

P.S Sorry couldnt decide if I should post this here or in the discusion ssection

go amsterdam, but get a flight there cheap rite now, hotels are cheap there u can easily find one for £20-30 a night, and its one crazy place!!

but wouldnt I be wasting it if I go alone?. Its not a place you can go and just hang out with yourself.
