Missed mobile phone payment and credit rating

Hi all, I'm new here! Some excellent advice on this site, I've been reading for ages!

Anyway, a few months ago T Mobile couldn't take the money from my account for that months bill via direct debit because there was not enough in it - I am a student after all! However, the next month I paid for two months to conver the failed payment. I've not missed any other payments. Does this affect my rating in any way?

Also, I decided to cancel the direct debit and pay by debit card because I felt I had more control as to when I could afford to pay them etc. However , I might now be in a position to reinstate the direct debit. Would I gain anything from this in terms of rating?

Thanks!

Phil
