I got a letter in today's post addressed to The Director, ...... Limited and I opened it (while opening my other post without noticing) and it's bank statements. I rang the bank concerned and said I had no idea who or what this company is and they said they'd investigate, but they would not inform me of any results of their investigation.
So I just checked on companies house and they have it registered at my address  !
Is this some sort of fraud? Help!!!

Can I suggest firstly that you remove the company name otherwise everyone will know where you live....?
Interestingly looks like the company has been active since 2002...how long have you been at your current address? Is it possible it had something to do with the previous owner/tenant of your house?0 -
You do realise that by posting this information anyone reading these forums can look up your address.

If you click 'edit' on your post, and then click on 'go advanced' (it should be in the bottom right of the edit screen), you should be able to change the title of your post0

Thanks, done that.
The house was only built in 2005 and I am the first owner. I just phoned companies house and the address was changed 9/10/2006. They checked the orginal form and it's not a typo. I don't know any of the company officers and they are going to write to see if they made a mistake. If they don't respond or did not know the address had been changed Companies House will investigate it as possible fraud.
I'm really worried.Marsh Samphire0 -
I dropped you a quick pm with some info I found on the company - I'm not putting it up here as people would be able to work out your home address0

Maybe as your house is a newbuild they didn't have a post code, so used a close one to your street. Then somewhere along the line someone has wrongly added your details onto a system...??0

I'm hoping it's a genuine mistake and not something sinister. Someone at work said it might be fraud against the company by a third party. I will have to wait and see if my credit reports show anything odd and for Companies House to get back to me.Marsh Samphire0

I had a similar thing excapt I know who the company is - its the people who lived here before us and have disappeared and their company gone bust! They've helpfully not changed the address with companies house or the VAT mob.
I phoned Customs and Excise who would only make a file note disassociating me from that compnay; they wouldn't register that the company had moved.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards.
