My laptop is running slow :s

My laptop has all of a sudden started to run slow

Initially when i started the laptop this morning, there was internet connection but the page just wouldnt open....when it finally did, was taking ages to download....

can anyone help me?

run c cleaner and defrag (i use auslogics disk defrag)
also, check what progs you have running in start up
also, how many anti virus/firewalls do you have running. too many can really slow your laptop down.

As a cover all type set of instructions from previous threads:

1. Uninstall all unnecessary programs from Control Panel then restart your computer.
2. Run Windows Update: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ then restart your computer.
3. Run CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com
4. Run an anti-virus scan: http://www.free-av.com/
5. Run an anti-malware scan: http://www.malwarebytes.org/
6. Check the VRAM settings i.e.:

- Click Start, then open the Control Panel.
- Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Under Performance, click Settings.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Under Virtual memory, click Change.
- Under Drive [Volume Label], click the drive that contains the paging file (virtual memory) settings that you want to change. In almost every case, this will be your C: drive.
- Click to select the "System managed size" option, then click Set.
- Click OK three times and restart your computer.

7. Run a defrag: http://www.defraggler.com/
8. Investigate msconfig: http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/
9. Perform disk error checking: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM QUICK SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
If anything was found then do the exact same but run a FULL scan

Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running

If you get a message that you cant write to the hosts file then Press the SHIFT key, and whilst holding it RIGHT CLICK and select RUN AS (admin)
