Wholesale companies - Can they be trusted?

Heres one company https://www.ticmobiles.com.
I got a few from directories and was wondering if the goods they send out are in working condition because I just read another forum where people are complaining about receiving goods, especially, from this company that all the goods they ordered came damaged even though it said 'a few MAY be' damaged.
Just wanted some info these companies because if they turn out ok I can use them in my studies at the moment.
Cheers,

So, no one has dealt with a online wholesaler?0

Personally, I would not do business with a wholesaler. It depends what you want to sell, with stuff like mobiles etc everyone is doing it. You may get a good price from the wholesaler, but with so many sellers you will all undercut each other to get a sale. The only winner is the wholesaler, who gets a steady profit.
For business these days you need to find a niche. All the big companies can buy at prices that will take you years of business to buy at. Let Tesco et al sell the big names.
If they are saying the phones may be damaged they could be returns. Don't venture into this area, buying pallets etc, as when people buy products they want to know that it is working etc. Unless you have a repair service on hand to check and test every product, these aren't much use.0 -
More & more wholesalers also sell on ebay and there's no way you could then undercut them.0

Wasnt looking to sell on eBay. Giving that place a rest at the moment!
Just was curious, I dont care about the profit side at the moment, I would be happy if I got back what I made and probably a little more to cover costs such as travel BUT the main thing was to use it in a part of my business course. There were pallets costing only £75, group of 3 and thats £25 each, so even if there is a loss its not much.
Thanks anyway.

Can you imagine what you'll get in a group of 3 pallets costing £75!0

What are the carriage costs and import duty/VAT on this? It could end up being a lot more that £75. It all sounds a bit dubious to me - you could end up with 3 pallets of scratched, damaged and not working phones. There's usually a good reason for things being too cheap!0
