Royal Mail not even bothering to deliver parcels to me (not weather related!)

I live in a block of 10 flats, which has a letterboxes for each flat by the main door enterance to the flats, along with buzzers for each flat. As I was exiting my building the postman was delivering the mail. He asked me if my surname was ****, and I said that I was, to which he replied that he had put a while you were out slip through my door as there was a parcel for me but that I would have to collect it from the local delivery office. I told him that the buzzer for my flat was working however he said that he didn't have the parcel with him. His comment was just that me letterbox was tiny, no apology for not even attempting to deliver my parcel! This is not the first time I have had a while you were out slip put through my letterbox while I have been in without the buzzer even being rung. I am very angry about this as when I pay for delivery I except it to be delivered to my home not the local delivery office which is 2 miles away. I've put an online complaint in, but I'm not expecting much of a response back from royal mail, but felt the need to vent about poor royal mail service!

Yep there are lots of other people complaining about the same issue, which suggests that royal mail is providing a poor service these days. Of course you get bad and good postman, and they all have a difficult job to do especially with the awful conditions at the moment. But if they won't deliver to parcels home/flat addresses then they should be honest about it and say that they can't deliver to those addresses.Mortgage-free wannabe 2026 £1130/40000 -
they should when people are paying them to do so!0

Almost an hour since the first post and we've yet to see the usual Royal mail apologists on here. (You know, the ones who think that RM can't do any wrong and will defend them to their dying breath).0

you know, I am not going to defend Royal Mail here (and most of us are probably still out on delivery today) -what the original poster has to do is phone the delivery office and make a complaint. Then call the main customer services office and make another complaint. Keep complaining about it and it will have to be dealt with.
This comes from a fed up with being moaned at about the while you were out cards - complain to the company and the offices directly people, more often than not, the foot postie really isn't to blame.0 -

Don't worry I didn't moan to the postman, I just wished him well on his way as the pavement is in a awful state here. I've already e-mailed customer services, and when I pick up my parcel from the collection office I'll talk to somewhere there if they're not too busy.Mortgage-free wannabe 2026 £1130/40000 -
good luck with the not being too busy part! if your office is anything like the one I work out of, it's non stop busy at the moment I'm afraid.
Good luck though, I hope you get a better service soon.0
