Severe disruption is expected today at all London airports. As a result all flights departing from London Heathrow will be cancelled between 1000 and 1700 UK time and all European and Domestic flights from London Gatwick between 1000 and 1659 UK time will be cancelled. Please do not travel to the airport if you are due to depart between these times.

If your flight has been cancelled please do not come to the airport unless you have a confirmed booking on a new flight.

Looks like it was a good call from BA. Cancelling all their flights early rather than getting passengers to come to the airport will have reduced some of disruption, inconvenience and money.

Just hope it's all gone by Wednesday as I have a flight to Spain.

It's a pity they didn't do the same yesterday. My parents travelled to Heathrow only to be told their flight was cancelled. They rebooked for eight this morning... only to have that flight cancelled too. They are booked on yet another flight tomorrow morning.

    Third time lucky?
  • Wasn't third time lucky for me. I have just come home after trying to fly since Friday. They kept rebooking me then that flight was cancelled.

Ditto today Second time this year for me (volcanic ash being the first) as LHR is not accepting any more folk. Far from joyful but in the scheme of things it's no big deal.
