Hi everyone
New to all this forum posting but here goes our situation!
My husband was made redundant in mid november, so understand all redundancy pay and notice pay. We have 3 children aged 4, 2 and 9weeks, i do not work as looking after kids.
My husband has been to job centre to sign on for job seekers allowance but it all seems a bit slow, does anybody have any idea of what we are entitled to? i have informed the tax credit office, so our child tax credit payments have increased and was also advised to apply for the sure start maternity grant. I'm guessing that we will get the joint job seekers (£100), is this right?
Also i am due to start a self employed cleaning business in the new year which the job centre says is going to cause confusion? Will my husband get the £60 allowance then and also because it is a new business i will be earning very little to start off with so will i be able to claim working tax and child tax credits still, will not be having child care.
sorry to drag on, but really need to get clear in my head as to what our finances will be like, hope someone can advise!!!
