It's very hard to think of something that really is free - I like walking, but not this weather. I enjoy a glass of wine - but that's not free. I enjoy a good DVD, but that's only free if my daughter gets it.

If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

If you live near a large town you could go for a walk round your local gallery or museum- many are free. I'm lucky in Manchester as there's a load to choose from!0
