ex-catalogue wearhouse 'leather' suites?

hi all, 19 months ago i spent £634 on a 3 seater and a 2 seater settee, leather 'match' apartently from a ex-catalogue weaarhouse near me.
The salesman said the seats them selves and the back rests were leather, but the back and sides of the sofas werent real leather!
To cut a long story short, i was cleaning it yesterday and i noticed the cushions had badly fraided.
I cant remember where my receipt went, (but i did pay on my card, so it will show on my bank statement) and does anyone have any ideas what kind of warranty etc may have been included or not included.
I cant understand how a expensive (very expensive to me, saved up for 2 years for this settee) sofa hasnt lasted anywhere near the amount of time it is supposed to have, and whether trading standards could or hould get involved?
Im very very annoyed to say the least, the sofa hasnt been mis-treated, there is only the 4 of us that live here, one of which wasnt born when it was first delivered and has only recently started sitting on it.
many thanks.
The only thing i can think of it to either ring up the store if i can find a number or call in posing as a perspective buyer and quiz a salesman as to the warranty that is on each product sold....
