Hi everyone, after a lil bit of advice please.
OH currently claiming ESA for himself and me. I would like to go back to work asap but due to reasons that I would prefer not to go into at the mo I can only work part time and he will still be unable to work due to an awful illness ne had a while back.
What I wouild like to know is if I work part-time the money will be pretty poor, but its better than not working, would he still be able to claim ESA as he will still be unfit for work??
Thanks for reading.

He will continue to receive any contribution based ESA but as he is claiming 'for you' as well he is likely to be in receipt of income based ESA as a top up for the household. Check his latest letter to to see how much of the ESA is income based or call them to ask.
The income based ESA will be reduced by an amount equivalent to your earnings over £20 per week and if this means entitlement to ESA (Income based) stops, any Housing Benefit/council tax benefit may also be reduced.
